Nobel Banquet 1985

The evening gown is made of yellow faille with prominent gold embossed appliqués in the shape of flowers on the skirt and arms. A full-skirted gown that The Queen wore later for an official portrait photograph. This official photograph now hangs at Swedish embassies around the world.

Jewellery

This year The Queen is wearing the Leuchtenberg Sapphire parure. The set consists of a diamond tiara with sapphires, pendant earrings with diamond-framed sapphires (originally hairpins), a diamond necklace with sapphires and nine pendant clusters as well as a diamond brooch with large sapphires.

OUR QUEEN – DRESSED FOR A NOBEL BANQUET
Year 2006 marked 30 years since Silvia Sommerlath became Queen of Sweden. It was, among other events, celebrated with an exhibition featuring the evening gowns worn by The Queen to the Nobel Banquets 1976–2006.
