Autumn at the Royal sites

In the autumn of 2021 several of the Royal palaces reopens. The exhibition about the popular Crown Princess Margareta has been extended and the guided tours at Royal Stables restarts. There will also be autumn and Christmas markets at the Royal sites.

Opening hours may need to change in view of ongoing developments.

The Royal Palace open daily

The Royal Palace’s Royal Apartments remain open year-round, every day from 10:00–16:00. The ongoing exhibition Daisy – Crown Princess Margareta, 1882–1920 is on display to 9 January 2022. You are free to enjoy the Royal Apartments and the exhibition at your own pace. An audio guide to the Bernadotte Apartments is available.

Weekends at Gripsholm Castle

Gripsholm Castle remains open weekends until November. During regular opening hours, you are free to explore the castle on your own.

Drottningholm Palace reopens

Drottningholm Palace reopens the first weekend in November, and will be open weekends until first weekend in December.

Guided tour of the Royal Stables

The Royal Stables open their doors for guided tours on weekends. The staff of the Royal Stables will show visitors the carriage halls, the harness room, and the stables. The weekend tours of the Royal Stables run throughout the year.

Discover the Royal Parks

All the Royal parks are open 24 hours a day, all year round. In the parks you can enjoy nature, culture and sculptures. The free 'Royal Walks' (Kungliga Promenader) walking app is available to download in App Store and Google Play and features itineraries for the southern Djurgården, Drottningholm, Ulriksdal and Tullgarn palace parks.

Enjoy cultural heritage from home

For those who are unable or unwilling to travel, a wealth of cultural heritage can be discovered digitally from the comfort of home. Several palace halls can be discovered in virtual tours and previous exhibitions can be visited digitally.

The Royal Gift Shop

The Royal Shop at the Royal Palace is open daily this autumn, offering a range of products with links to the royal collections and literature about Swedish royal cultural heritage.

Buying tickets in advance is recommended. Pre-buy tickets via the link to each sites webpage.

Marking and signage will remind visitors to keep their distance. Hand sanitiser is available at the entrances and staff will provide guidance on staying safe during your visit. To protect yourself and others, all visitors are asked to follow the Public Health Agency of Sweden’s advice and recommendations.
