Much of the décor at Strömsholm Palace is in the Gustavian style. It was created for King Gustav III's wife, Queen Sofia Magdalena Opens in new window., who was given the palace as a wedding gift. The interior decoration was directed by architect Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz.

The palace's art collection is truly unique. You can see Court Painter David Klöcker Ehrenstrahl's famous paintings of King Karl XI's favourite horses, parts of Queen Hedvig Eleonora's art collection and paintings from the time of Queen Ulrika Eleonora the Younger.
