Mannheim Youth Symphony Orchestra

An international guest performance featuring youthful, classical sounds. One of Germany's leading youth orchestras will be visiting Gripsholm Castle this summer.

Mannheim Youth Symphony Orchestra (JSOM) will make an appearance at Gripsholm as part of its summer tour of Sweden.

Under conductor Jan-Paul Reinke, the orchestra will perform an ambitious and atmospheric programme for seasoned concert-goers and curious first-time listeners alike.

The free concert will take place in the grounds of Gripsholm Castle. Why not bring a picnic!

Programme: Brahms Symphony no. 1, Verdi Overture La Forza del Destino, Chaminade Concertino for flute, C.-M. von Weber Clarinet concerto no. 2, Bruch Kol Nidrei for cello and orchestra, Strauss Overture "Die Fledermaus"

The concert is free, and will take place outdoors.

Mannheim Youth Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1977 by Hanno Haag, and now includes around 90 young musicians from across the Rhein-Neckar region. The orchestra rehearses regularly at Mannheim's Börsensaal hall, and has earned a reputation for its high standard, its energy and its coherence.
