"I’ve started drawing bodybuilders in the last few years. They emerged from my abstract drawings of simple lines. The body is ever-present in my drawings, and the bodybuilder’s overly accentuated lines speak directly with the lines in my hand. In my drawings, I move within a world of abstract imagery where I draw my inspiration from queer spaces, superhero comics and Agnes Martin.

For me, drawing is a form of note-taking; I draw as I listen and try to understand. In these notes, I then find my themes, my sketches, my finished drawings and text fragments. I want to understand the world around me and share my thoughts with others, and I’ve found that drawing is my language that I continue to learn with and from."
