Mirror clock, Stockholm 1740

This table clock, with its mirrored glass façade, shows the date and has a mechanism that plays four different tunes: a hymn, a march, an aria and a minuet. The mirror clock was produced by Stockholms Manufabrique in around 1740.

The founder of the clock factory, Petter Schnack, submitted a list of its regular production pieces to the manufacturing authority in 1738. The description of the company's finest table clock matches a simpler version of the mirror clock.
